Jorge Bermúdez

Of Counsel

Jorge is Of Counsel at MSyA Abogados. He joined the firm in 2024, where he leads the public law practice and is a member of the environmental law practice. He has an extensive and distinguished professional and academic career, in both the public and private sectors.

Prior to joining MSyA, he notably served as Comptroller General of the Republic (2015–2023) and, among other roles, his role as legal advisor and attorney in various government agencies, such as the Ministry of Defense, the Undersecretariat of Fisheries, the State Defense Council, the Environmental Assessment Service, the Superintendency of the Environment, and the National Forestry Corporation. This experience enables him to provide excellent legal counsel to domestic and international clients on a wide range of regulatory matters, drawing on his deep understanding of how the Chilean public sector operates.

He currently also serves as a professor of administrative law and environmental law at the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses.
